Soren Jacobsen - Itinerant golfer... played 50 rounds in 50 states in 50 days for my 50th birthday, I've been taking it a bit more easy since then.
Updated #BestShotOfTheYear... It's not every day you replace your best shot of the year with one where you hit your club 30 yards short of it's stock distance... But today was that day. Up against a bush my only start line was toward the red "X" in the pic. To make matters…
Updated #Bestshotoftheyear ... last night, little twilight 18. I almost never try this completely blind shot unless I'm playing in a scramble (and far less often it's successful)... but I was playing with some kids and they didn't believe it could be done so I gave it a whirl…
Travel season is (mostly) over for the year... Time to start ramping up* for competition season... Registrations have begun *excited emoji* *In this case ramping up includes, primarily, fixing a) my two way miss off the tee and b) my atrocious pull miss left with my irons…

Golf life: until about noon Monday Hospital life*: since about noon on Monday Staying at the hospital for someone else, I'm fine. Also, we're out now and on the road headed home :)

Not sure if we are looking for visual effect or playability... Visually I've always* liked this hole (#17) at .@GreatHorseClub in MA... (*Always = since playing in '17)
What is the best bunkered hole you have ever seen? Does this one qualify as the best?
👀👀👀🤯
There is no way this has ever happened (on a legit golf course) in the history of golf. And it includes the latest pga tour winner Ryan Gerard. Buckle up. On Sunday before his the final round of the @CudaChamp Ryan called his good friend and mini-tour player Cam Starr. Starr…
I don't know for sure there's a golf course adjacent to the hospital, but I can't rule out...

Said about me, to me, during a round recently (paraphrasing, as I recall it)... "You're one of the strangest golfers I've seen. Sometimes you make it look so easy, and then other times........." (comment trails off at this point) I'm not sure if the way *I* feel about my game…
Gotta say, as hospital food goes, four bucks for a -generously sized and very good- made to order breakfast burrito is a steal!!!

For a recreational round that's not competition or being posted, the only one I might have an issue with is #1 (doing this once or twice is one thing, but no one needs to wait for you to do this over and over again.
Thoughts on these “relaxed” rules of golf? ⛳️😲

I will never, ever, ever understand this take (in particular, the absolute nature of it). If you own golf shoes and *aren't* wearing them at an event when it's wet, what are you thinking?? Moreover, even if it is dry, why would you ever -even a little bit- care what someone…
Absolutely no reason to wear golf shoes unless you are in fact, playing golf. My experience (especially in the steel spike days) was it’s a 30 Handicapper that’s wants to be mistaken as a pro.
🧵: A couple weeks ago, when some guys from some bro-centric podcast I'll never listen to made the claim that the worst thing that can happen on a golf course is getting paired up with a random, I had the same military-grade eyeroll reaction that most golfers had. And like many
My body yesterday at noon (after completing my 16th round in 9 days, not counting time on the HORSE course): I'm ready to not touch a club for weeks!!! My body at 9:00am today: Did we miss an alarm?!?!!?!?? Why are we not swinging clubs??!?? Let's go!!!
Had a great start to my day yesterday (the rest of the day left a lot to be desired), playing quarry oaks with some of my favorite people. Fun, beautiful, rolling course that I made harder than I think it really is. I didn't play it before the renovation so I can't really…

A few looks at the dynamite shack hole at @QuarryOaksUSA . Shack and dynamite tees on top are barely visible on the far left of the first pic, last pic is from the tees we actually played...

Deluxe accommodations for the next night or two... Never let it be said we didn't know how to vacation... 🤷🤷🤷

Thanks to everyone who has reached out, publicly and privately, the thoughts are very much appreciated! Normally I'd express my thanks individually but, because this day couldn't leave "well enough" alone, I've spent (and am still spending) the afternoon in the ER with a family…
Farewell to: The reason I love and play this game (golf). The reason I didn't completely suck at baseball (despite having no real ability at all). The reason, in so many ways, I am who I am today (except tall, you get no credit for tall). Great round dad, see you on the…
