We are working with @floodmary to run a flood awareness drop in at Surfleet Sluice car park, on Tuesday July 29. We will be there from 11am-6pm. Attendees can, see flood products, try out our interactive signage and ask for advice.

What are #SuDS anyway? Awesome is what. They're far more natural ways of draining (and storing) water otherwise chucked as quickly as possible down drains where it's either lost as a useful resource or causes sewer overflows, or flooding, or pollution.
Next, government really must implement a *mandatory* implementation mechanism to make these good standards the default way of doing things. They're not rocket science and super-flexible, but developers still try to wriggle out of using them. No excluses @mtpennycook @SteveReedMP

I headed to meet @floodmary at one of her advice clinics. Her flood-mobile is kitted with props to demonstrate how people can protect their homes at cost-effective ways. Simple things like covering air bricks with aluminium tape stops water coming through. In today’s @DailyMirror
