François Bayrou, who has a 12% approval rate after announcing huge budget cuts and getting rid of two vacation days, is naming Najat Vallaud-Belkacem to the Cour des comptes, reportedly partially as a ploy to avoid a no-confidence vote by the Socialist Party, led by her husband.

French deputy Olivier Marleix, who led Les Républicains in the National Assembly from 2022-2024, was found dead in his home from suicide.

France's left will vote to bring down François Bayrou's government at the beginning of next week. The only open question is whether the RN will join with the vote and make it a fait accompli. We'll be monitoring this situation closely in next Monday's episode of the show.
