Today Recruit Class 166 got their 1st taste of Technical Rescue training, introducing skills needed to be part of #FCFRD Technical Rescue Operations Team. This training fulfills recruit requirements & highlights the capabilities of our Rescue Squads & Urban Search & Rescue team.

New week, new #ProbieNoMore! Congrats to now Firefighter Ryan Devine (FS13, Dunn Loring, A-Shift) on earning his black helmet shield! This is a hard-earned achievement involving many hours of training and determination from FF Devine and those who mentored him over the past year.

UPDATE 2500 blk of Farmcrest Drive: The fire is under control.

#FairfaxsBravest are on scene of a 3-alarm garden-style apt fire in 2500 blk of Farmcrest Dr in Frying Pan. Units arrived to fire showing from 2nd & 3rd floors. Working to confine/extinguish fire. No reported civilian injuries. 1 FF transferred w/ non-life-threatening injuries.

#FairfaxsBravest are on scene of a high-rise fire in 12000 blk of Town Square St, Reston. Units dispatched for fire alarm. Call upgraded for reports of smoke. Crews located fire on 8th floor that was contained by sprinkler system. Checking for extension/ventilation. No injuries.

Around 7pm #FairfaxBravest responded to reports of a vehicle stuck in water in the 9200 blk of Old Dominion Dr in Great Falls. Units arrived to find a vehicle stuck in swift water with 7 occupants trapped. Crews worked quickly to rescue the occupants. There were no injuries.

#FairfaxBravest are on the scene of a house fire in the 8500 blk of Stonewall Dr in Dunn Loring. Units arrived to smoke showing from the 2nd floor of the home and a fire in the attic. The fire is under control. No civilian or firefighter injuries. Fire investigators are on scene.

#FairfaxBravest are on the scene of a house fire in the 3000 blk of Jeannie Anna Ct in Herndon. Crews arrived to fire showing from an attached garage. The fire is under control. One occupant was transported for non-life-threatening injuries. No firefighter injuries.

#FairfaxsBravest are on the scene of a two vehicle accident with one vehicle into a pole in the 8100 blk of Jones Branch Drive in Tysons. Crews arrived and assessed two patients. One patient was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Expect delays in the area.

At 1:18pm #FairfaxBravest @CityofFairfaxFD responded to a building collapse in 3000 blk of Cedar Ln in Merrifield. The building is under construction. Crews & FCFRD Technical Rescue Operations Team worked together to assess the scene & assist workers. 3 patients were transported.

Another day, another flood watch. @capitalweather says this is the 14th flood watch in our area since May. @NWS_BaltWash has issued a Flood Watch until midnight. Do not drive through flooded roadways. Your car can stall causing you to become trapped. Turn Around, Don't Drown!
