Building the Longacre Company into the most customer-first home service company in PA. Past life: @teachforamerica @google.
Every few years, I revise a list of 10 rules I live by. 1. Find problems that intoxicate you. 2. Listen 80% of the conversation. Let people talk about their interests. 3. The potential of an idea is more powerful than the current success of it.
90% of success is: -Setting clear expectations -Keeping track of what needs to get done -Consistently following up until a thing reaches completion. -Being kind and empathetic. Don't overcomplicate it.
Most people forget that the "big" thing isn't big that for long. The owner of the Cubs was the world's biggest chewing gum provider. Can you imagine that guy owning a team in 2025?
Random question: How do you build your business credit score? Kinda assumed that most of our credit stuff was getting reported to Dun Bradstreet and it seems like hardly any of it is. We buy on credit from almost every vendor and have a SBA loan.
When applying for credit lines as a business, ALWAYS craft a cover letter/credit memo. You gotta tell your story. It's a game. Don't just submit your financials. Underwriters are trained to follow rules. You need your salesperson to be your champion.
