SURPRIIIIIIISE!!! The beta release of our Grand Theft Auto Vice City port to the Sega Dreamcast is finally here! Here's an actual hardware capture of raising some hell in the beautiful streets of Miami taken straight from my DC to celebrate! We've now added graphics settings…
WHOOO! After another week of intense bugfixing and performance gainz, jnmartin is preparing for the initial public release of Mario Kart 64 for the Sega Dreamcast! Here's your very first look at the state of the game now with fully implemented audio, directly captured from my DC!
Just spent the last freaking hour trying to get LTO working with jnmartin's port of Mario Kart 64 to the Sega Dreamcast for some huge gainz... Which, thanks to all of the UB throughout the decomp code, has now broken the game in new and amazing ways! The first thing that…
When you have a sudden epiphany about pipelining single vector-by-matrix transforms for the Sega Dreamcast's SH4 CPU at 3AM and have to grab a notebook...
Congratulations to Jamie for porting the @pikuma 3D software renderer to the Sega Dreamcast and optimizing it for the SH4! Fantastic work!
It also runs on real hardware!
Hell yeah, it's worth continuing! This game engine for the Sega Dreamcast looked absolutely amazing!
Lately, I have a little abandoned this engine for Dreamcast, I have not been able to dedicate time to it. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth to continue with this project, it requires a lot of dedication and I don't know if I can make it good enough to be used 😅#Dreamcast
...the man who achieved modifier volume-based self-shadowing in World Series Baseball 2k2 and was able to push polygons to the PowerVR GPU so quickly that its "Tile Accelerator" became his main bottleneck (pretty much unheard of), just pulled his Sega Dreamcast devkit back out!
Pulled my Dreamcast devkit out of storage and put it on the retro bench with my VidHD and #AppleII projects. I wonder if the devkit will work after 25 years... 🤔
We just had a MASSIVE audio performance breakthrough with jnmartin's port of Mario Kart 64 to the Sega Dreamcast! The ADPCM audio decoder which runs in software on our main 200Mhz SH4 CPU has now been optimized AF and has yielded substantial gainz! The code on the right side is…

Dat look on Mario's face when he sees that he's been ported to the Sega Dreamcast...

Yep! It's true, Mario Kart 64 now has audio on the Sega Dreamcast! ...which is why I haven't made any technical posts about it yet... jnmartin and I are DEEP in the coedz trying to optimize the audio, which has officially pushed the port over the edge in terms of performance.…

What would Super Mario 64 look like were it enhanced for the Sega Dreamcast? Well, modder Esppiral is setting out to answer exactly that question with his upcoming mod for our Mario 64 DC port, featuring enhanced geometry and textures, as well as Mario Galaxy's fresnel lighting!…
The same KallistiOS SDK and library OS that has been powering the Sega Dreamcast homebrew scene for the last 2 decades is making its way to a Nintendo Gamecube near you! Here's a direct HW capture of Doom running on the GC, sitting atop the KOS kernel which has already been…
Time for a KallistiOS GameCube update! Besides some loose ends, the KOS kernel is ported and all the foundational stuff like threads, context switching, interrupt handling, etc. are working. A bunch of the basic KOS examples/tests now build and run for GameCube. Wrote some…
Sega Dreamcast fans, please be sure to check out the newly launched IndieGogo campaign for the upcoming multiplatform release, Sovietborgs, from @RetroSumus! Coming straight from an alternate timeline with the USSR winning the Cold War, this top-down run 'n' gun title features…
A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES! You guys all begged for it, and now jnmartin has brought it! Sonic is now a playable character in the Sega Dreamcast port of Mario Kart 64! Here's an actual HW capture of him in action! NOTE: Sorry Toad lovers, but... he's Sonic now! 😂
Going for a relaxing cruise through Rainbow Road in Mario Kart 64... on my Sega Dreamcast, of course! Let's take a look at this footage I just barely recorded directly from my DC of jnmartin's latest build! First of all, yes, there's still no audio. No, I don't care how…
