Optimistic. Never starting a podcast--so everyone, please remain calm.
Not sure who needs to hear this again but: The Warriors winning in 2022 did not justify their Two Timelines idea. They won *in spite* of it. Then the plan meaningfully contributed to failure of the title defense in multiple ways. It’s just such a lazy defense.
If the Warriors think he is worth this why aren’t they signing him to a 30 million dollar extension. This is absolutely insane lmao.
The Golden State Warriors criteria for any Jonathan Kuminga sign-and-trade package, per @anthonyVslater — At least one first-round pick — A good young player — No bad contracts in return (h/t @APH00PS)
5 out of the 14 roster slots in a title defense taken up by clear inexperience. Throw in a few TBD newcomers and Iguodala’s age… It’s amazing to look back and remember how much people scoffed at the concerns.
The retrospective thing people are doing in calling 2023 a lost season boggles the mind. That was a title defense season. They had just won a bloody title and they fumbled it by gambling on youth and folks are saying the solution was to LEAN more on youth?? What????
Whoa now, why throw out probabilities and think about expected value? Don’t forget how Bob Myers revealed how they did things at Warriors HQ: Just think about outlier possibilities.
Yes stay committed to having the 10th best trade package for Giannis just for the 20% chance he asks out
In the shadow NBA offseason, the Warriors have set up potential moves that include the possibility of adding Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton. 📝: @timkawakami sfstandard.com/2025/07/25/jon…

Packing JK with Chris Paul’s $30m expiring is still a key “What if?” for me. Klay could’ve just walked. Wiggins could’ve stayed. What return was there? Who can say? But also, how willing was Joe at the time anyway?
Shams on the Kuminga saga: "He did tell me though that he is in absolutely no rush on doing a deal with the Warriors right now and he is not accepting their current offers...the Suns and Kings are two teams that have made concrete offers with the Dubs over the last week or so"
The contradictory rumors surrounding the Kuminga extension is a Rorschach Test for how you want to view Kuminga and/or the Warriors front office. One thing is certain: All parties are motivated to promote the most ideal version of the facts for their side.
This is Slater's reporting during extension talks, though. Not clear how far talks actually got, to the point of him "turning down" any offer, but it seems that's what it could've been if it did.
3 lotto picks during Steph Curry’s viable window and they got only 1 of them to comfortably sign a contract for 3 yrs/$39m. Confidence level over 9000 for the 2026 through 2032 picks tho…
