Best thing about staying at my home institution is seeing med school friends throughout the hospital 💕 Here’s to finishing 1 week of intern year!

Switching from pediatrics to otolaryngology October of MS3 had me doubting whether I'd match at all, let alone at my top choice @BCM_Oto! So proud of all my classmates, we did it! Guess I can no longer deny that I'm a Texan, 5 more years in Houston! @DeliaRospi @JaeEunLee10

Great lunch talk with vaccine scientist, Dr. @PeterHotez, and our BCM/McGovern Hillel student group! We had a meaningful discussion about antiscience and antisemitism, and learned more about Dr. Hotez’s incredible career.

Practical tip I’ve learned while on my 1st visiting rotation: hang a map in the OR of all the screws in the hardware you are removing. Simple way to ensure you don’t leave any screws behind without needing to continuously check the CT scan while operating.

Important lesson learned last week: don’t walk to your doctor’s appt in @HoustonTX in July. You may give yourself heat exhaustion and fail the temperature screening with a temp of 100.2°F 🥵
#uworld when it’s down during the time of year the majority of medical students take step 2
When your family helps you study for Step2 by texting you pictures of their rashes >>>

When you’re exhausted by the process but still excited to share clinic stories after work, you’re in the right place. @ewenn16 (her face when talking about a laryngectomy 🙌🏼)
Left: healthy throat Right: 1-week post recovery from #covid19 throat 😯 just imagine the covid throat during the active symptomatic phase
