It's good for democracy that someone ran on doing stupid things, then did stupid things, and now the people who voted for him are getting burned (sadly so are the rest of us). US politics has become immaterial and focused on culture war nonsense. 2028 will be tariffs and bonds.
What scares me about this moment compared to 2007-8 is the breadth of unsecured consumer debt out there. People who want to live above their means have so many options to kick the can that they didn't have in 2007, and I fear that the contagion is going to reflect that.

Too many young Dem digital staffers have been led to believe that stuff like tweeting Taylor Swift lyrics from their boss’ account is a mark of success. Having fun online is fine but it still has to feel real… and be grounded in a larger strategy that hammers the GOP everyday.
