#WritingCommunity. Finished read thru of my YA sci-fi novel that I’m querying. Stands at 92.9k words. Added final scene revealing what the enemy aliens look like. Will do one final proofread as I query. But first, I’m beta reading, returning favor for great feedback on my story.

So, #WritingCommunity, experiencing new territory. I have 2 versions of my sci-fi novel. One is YA & the other is aged up to adult. When I proofread, I think the one I’m reading is the best between the two. Maybe if I can get an agent it might be useful to have two versions🤔 🤓

Guess what #WritingCommunity, I received a partial request for the young adult version of my sci-fi novel. One request out of ten queries isn’t bad, I guess. (9 rejections, 1 partial request). Still have 3 other queries out. I’ll be beside myself if I get a full request🤓

I submitted the adult version of my sci-fi novel today to #SmallPitch ! The original was YA from the female MC’s POV. This version is aged up and from the male MC’s POV. I have my reasons for the rewrite, and we’ll see if I get any bites:) #WritingCommunity

My YA sci-fi story has gone through multiple rewrites. While I have 4 queries still hanging out there, I’ve been working on an alternate adult version with the male MC as the lead. May query small presses with it instead of agents. We shall see🤓🚀 #WritingCommunity

With 2 chapters left to edit, I have switched POVs from the female MC to the male MC, eliminated a major plot point & converted from present to past tense. Also cut about 15k words. Went from 91k words to 76k. Is the story better? 🤔 IDK. Hopefully. #WritingCommunity

Go through your novel and change the tense from past to present or present to past, and you will see how many times you use certain verbs. Might shock you. #WritingCommunity

Been toiling over a pen name. Not ready to use it any time soon, but I came up with one today that I can’t find being used in any searches. It’s for a day down the road that may arise. Gonna read & say it repeatedly in my head until it completely grows on me. #WritingCommunity

I must admit, I miss Kindle Vella. I wasn’t making much money but I had about 50 readers following my sci-fi story. I got notified when someone read a chapter. I got a new person following my story almost daily. But alas, it is not a thing anymore. #WritingCommunity

Looking forward to editing this weekend on an alternate version of my YA sci-fi novel that will be Adult, from the male POV instead of the female & I’m changing tense from present to past. Takes time, but it’s enlightening me to verbs I overuse. #WritingCommunity
