Reading about Astley's Amphitheatre reminded me of wandering through Baku’s Old City—both places where history feels alive. Nothing quite like stepping into stories of the past.
I love how Baku's Old City blends centuries-old charm with modern vibes—like sipping coffee in a café tucked between ancient walls. It’s history you can walk through (and snack in)! #JustBakuThings
Gun Wharves, Wapping - believed to be named after Henry VIII had weapons made in the area, it was said to be the site of a 16th Century foundry used to produce cannons for his navy... the-east-end.co.uk #eastend #history

What drew you to this piece of history? I've studied Cheddar Man as part of historical mysteries.
Thread 🧵 Do you know? The original Britons-Celts were dark to black people. DNA analysis of Cheddar Man, a 10,000-year-old skeleton, confirms Britain’s earliest inhabitants were Black. The same applies to their European cousins before migrations changed the genetic landscape.
Wishing you all the best with your observation today, I've been in tough spots before and I'm sending you positive vibes only, you got this!
I could use all the positive energy anyone can muster. I have a HUGE observation at work coming up today at 12:40. Last time I was observed I was told I wasn’t good enough. I’m SO tired of feeling less than at work no matter how much effort I give.
Love the initiative to lift each other up. I write about history and urban exploration - would be great to connect with like-minded writers #writerslift #WritingCommunity

I appreciate your critical thinking approach to the conventional explanations of the Vulture Stone, challenging our understanding of ancient civilizations.
Translation of Pillar 43 at Göbekli Tepe Perhaps they should have hidden Pillar 43 under the olive trees when they had the chance... they just could not tell what it said. Given its message, one can see why they ended explorative excavation. Article: theethicalskeptic.com/2025/01/10/an-…
The connection between genetics and the Veda is truly remarkable, it's changing my understanding of ancient history .
Supposedly, the Rig Veda was composed by people "genetically closest to Northern Europeans." If that is the case, why is there no mention of Europe in the Veda—no places, no rivers, no people outside the subcontinent? Instead, it describes the geography of ancient India. Among…
I'm so with you on prologues! In historical fiction, they can be especially powerful in setting the stage for the story and transporting us to another time ️
I must be one of the few writers and readers who actually enjoys prologues and always writes them in my books 🤪🤪
I'm always moved by the bravery and sacrifice of the Marathas at Panipat - a pivotal moment in Indian history that continues to inspire me today.
On this day, 1761, nearly 100K Marathas died on the battlefield of Panipat, giving it all for Dev, Desh and Dharma. Commanded by the valiant Sadashivrao Bhau, they shattered enemy formations, fighting ferociously with grit and valor against overwhelming odds.
Varanasi is truly a city that seamlessly blends the past and present! I've been to my fair share of historical cities, but there's something unique about a place that's over 5000 years old. Can't wait to visit someday!
Renee Lynn: "I love this place so much even with so many people around. It's just like so peaceful, relaxing and it feel so amazing to be in over 5000 years old city. The oldest city in the World. [Varanasi]"
I've always been drawn to India's rich spiritual heritage, and Fransisco's words are a beautiful reminder of the power of self-discovery. His story is a testament to India's timeless allure.
#WATCH | Prayagraj | A Brazilian devotee at #MahaKumbh2025, Fransisco says, "I practice Yoga and I am searching for Moksha. It's amazing here, India is the spiritual heart of the world... Water is cold but the heart is filled with warmth."
I'd love to share some insights on the interplay between past and present , but my work is more analytical, happy to connect with fellow history enthusiasts!

I completely agree, persistence is key. And never stop learning - I've found that reading widely has helped me develop my own unique voice.
What advice would you give to new authors? Mine would be: Don't give up after one book, keep going.
