A doctor dismissing me for my weight when I was trying to advocate for myself literally almost killed me. Was weight part of the issue? Sure. Was it the only issue? Absolutely not. Don’t make the system harder than it already is for the most vulnerable.

In 2023, went to a Phillies game where I was short of breath, among the last guests in CBP, took 45+ min 1.5 blocks to get to my car, & almost died 3 days later. Yesterday, w/ months of recovery behind me so far, I walked around CBP 1.5 miles, & took <15 min to get to my car!

The real win today was that I managed to walk 1.5 miles without much issue for the first time in years. This journey has been a roller coaster, but I’m proud of the strides I’ve made. It was worth this view despite the tough loss. #RingTheBell
