there’s no standard timeline for abuse or victims of abuse…. there’s no indicator of what is “enough” to quantify as abuse or be enough to go public with the trauma. there’s no indicator of what makes someone “enough” of a victim. yet here you all are, demanding these things to…
i read once a disturbing post that said “a perfect victim is a dead victim bc only then people will believe you” and the internet proves that over and over again.
if your first instinct when faced with an abuse survivor is to be suspicious and question what they’re after, I genuinely recommend taking a step back to reflect because truly what world do you think we live in that it would ever be advantageous to lie about something like this
