Really awesome new benchmark from the MARA team at Basis!! AutumnBench: autumn.basis.ai Blog: basis.ai/blog/autumn-pl…
We’re proud to announce the launch of AutumnBench, an open-source benchmark developed on our Autumn platform. This benchmark, led by our MARA team, provides a novel platform for evaluating world modeling and causal reasoning in both human and artificial intelligence.
We’re making the @BasisOrg organisation document public today. It’s less a charter and more a design doc—our spec for why a new kind of technology and research organisation is needed, and how to build it. (link below)
Very excited for this new study with my very talented postdoc Lisa Blum Moyse ( @IntBioPhysics ) where we develop an analytically tractable model of how social hierarchy shapes foraging decisions, in a patch foraging context. @CBehav Social hierarchy can be modeled as a…
📣 Excited to announce our workshop "Agent-Based Models in Neuroscience: Complex Planning, Embodiment, and Beyond" at the upcoming @CosyneMeeting #CoSyNe2025! 🧠🤖 🪱🪰🐟🐝🐭💪 🗓️ Join us in Mont-Tremblant, Canada, on March 31! neuro-agent-models.github.io
🎙️ Emily Mackevicius (@e_mackevicius) of @BasisOrg believes collective intelligence holds the key to solving global problems. Learn how her work connects animals, AI, and human collaboration on episode 28 of #Generationship! hubs.ly/Q033cDNM0
Thanks for a really fun conversation on the #Generationship podcast @rachelchalmers !
What do songbirds, subway rats, and AI have in common? 🐦🐀🤖 In episode 28 of #Generationship,@rachelchalmers speaks with Emily Mackevicius (@e_mackevicius) of @BasisOrg about intelligence in all its forms. Tune in now! hubs.ly/Q033cJ3k0
If you have time , read and share our new preprint on modeling social foraging 😁. The first of many studies to come . Any suggestions or comments are welcome. That's the link: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Foraging is my big passion and step by step I hope to develop a general theory of foraging , predicting decision strategies from the individual to the social. This time we are extending our foraging models to the social domain. Along with a very talented postdoc in my…
Proud to share that our work with @ellisk_kellis and collabs won the 1st prize ARC Paper Award! This is the first work to come out of the MARA project. Much more to come.

New whitepaper with contributions from Basis scientists and collaborators
Excited to release what we’ve been working on at Amaranth Foundation, our latest whitepaper, NeuroAI for AI safety! A detailed, ambitious roadmap for how neuroscience research can help build safer AI systems while accelerating both virtual neuroscience and neurotech. 1/N
It was great fun contributing to this whitepaper, and it turned into a great read. A deep dive into a number of important and new research directions in neuroAI.
