Just finished my 26th night shift of this rotation and my last ever shift as a foundation doctor. Roll on 6 weeks off before starting ST1 in September ✌🏻

Found out last week my little brother is having a baby. This is fantastic news for so many reasons, but primarily because I now have adult money I can spend on buying the most obscene, noisy, flashy, annoying toys as payback for what he was like when we were kids. Smashing.
Being consistently late to things is such a giant character flaw that you’re basically a lesser species
You’re not being demoted. A PA’s job is to ASSIST doctors & it was PAs themselves who unilaterally changed the name to associate. The conclusions of the Leng review are necessary for patient safety. This is a bitter pill to swallow for PAs, but it’s nonetheless the right one.
'It's unfair' Stephen Nash from United Medical Associate Professionals reacted on #BBCBreakfast to a review that suggests Physician Associates and Anaesthesia Associates, who assist doctors in GP surgeries and hospitals, should be known as 'assistants' to avoid confusing…
This loveable little scamp is 1️⃣1️⃣ today. After a horrid and turbulent start to his life he’s been with us for the last three and a half years and he is totally the boss in our house. Happy birthday Angus 🎂🥳

Really impressed with my new department who’ve got the finalised rota out NINE weeks before our start date. Less impressed I’m on long days over Christmas and nights over new year but someone has to take one for the team I guess 😂
Trying to learn my way round a new big Tescos during Sunday morning rush is genuinely more stressful than any 2222 call I’ve ever attended 😰
Little man all groomed and handsome ready for his new digs tomorrow ✂️ 🐶

Tell me why I’ve come home from my on call to see the dog has THIS much dry food out cos my husband has packed away the food box and he “needs enough to see him through” to when we move… ON WEDNESDAY 🤦🏻♂️

Was making fun of my husband for his dreadful memory and he said… “I think it’s a good way to live. Everybody only gets to live once, but I get to live things more than once. Keeps the world full of wonder, y’know?”
My 4YO nephew has come out with an absolute corker at the expense of my MIL 4: Nana, are you said cos Charlie’s (recently dead dog) in heaven? MIL: Yes I’m sad about it 4: Don’t worry nana, you’re really old so you’ll be going to heaven to be with him soon!! She’s 54 😂😂
Was at a wedding yesterday with a load of doctors and one of them referred to norovirus as “nature’s ozempic” and I’m still creasing about it 24 hours later 💩 💉
Inspectdog Angus has been down to his new digs today to prepare his snagging report 🔨 🔎

FY2 Outcome 6: Gained all competencies required for completion of the training programme. 22 shifts left as a foundation doctor 🎉 🎉

Fair play to the deanery they’ve literally just (at 18:00) released the information so have made the deadline 👍🏻
Tomorrow is 12 weeks until I start ST1 (which is the amount of notice we’re required to be given of upcoming rotations) and I *still* haven’t a clue which trust/site/dept I’ll be in come September. What’s the betting I don’t find out tomorrow either? 😅
