Fantastic paper, but let's be honest: UK medical academic training pathways are awful and getting worse. They treat research as some boring add-on skill and neglect how demanding rigorous research is-intellectually, financially and in terms of time commitment.

New computational modeling results showing that individuals with methamphetamine use disorder show greater aversive pruning during multistep planning. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…. Really excited to share this work led by @ClaireALavalley suggesting important model-based deficits🧵⬇️
Thus, aversive pruning may represent a unique model-based mechanism affected in methamphetamine use disorders with clear potential for clinical relevance. We're very grateful here for the support of @docqhuys @mpwpaulus @KhalsaLab @AnneChuning and others!
