On a quest to help stop the heat death of the universe :) For now, co-founder at http://imyoo.health, making big molecular data from home possible
This article made some good points: thehill.com/opinion/health…. Here's a follow-on thought experiment: can people imagine a re-framing where Phase II-III is done in the "real world", and instead of drugs being approved, they are pulled off shelves based on negative real-world data?
I've been using ChatGPT for all aspects of my life for the last year: personal, work, social interactions, learning, code, philosophy. Today's new suggestion of asking it to summarize me was pretty great. I think the digital model of myself is shaping up quite how I'd hope

I used to make sure to avoid typos in my personal data entry. Now I've largely stopped caring. I figure some future AI can just autocorrect everything. My finance journal be like like "paid rtent to ldnadlard"
Learning with ChatGPT is a blast. It gets me... all the way from "is a sunburn like sticking my hand in a socket" to "virtual photons sound like a hack" to "Bro...." chatgpt.com/share/687eff06…

Alright I think I like this new approach of "let my true feelings out" to scammers/salespeople:

Bioinformatics agent fail of the day: after generating thousands of lines of data analysis and interactive plots of subject specific gene expression, we learned the agent had no access to the metadata. It didn't know what data was from subject 1 vs 2. It just made it all up 😂
How much more would y'all pay for animal meat if you knew without a doubt the animal led a good, natural life up to the point of a quick, painless, and unexpected demise?
I've been tracking my expenses my whole adult life and can now ask questions like "What entity have I given the most money to?" My top 5: 1. U of Michigan (lol America) 2. Various landlords 3. Toyota 4. Amazon 5. My dentist (wtf?) Lifetime value of dental customers be whack
omg I got so zoned in vibe coding with my new favorite AI agent that I missed the underground humanoid robot cage fight #cyberpunk2025
Vibe coding continues to bother me. These AI code generators add significant bloat without adding function. They regress your code to the mean, and then patch it back with your desired functionality like some abomination of all the corpses of code bases that have ever been.
I think the concept of a single-family domicile is an individualistic, consumerism-fueled tragedy, and I really hope we move to community living en masse in the future. It is not only incredibly more resource-efficient, but I think it primes us for civilization-scale endeavors
@cosmotat and I have an understanding that whenever one of us is talking about something the other person isn't interested in, we can just say "next" to end it. No hard feelings, just not interested atm. I wish this was standard human protocol
I had the most tangible case of a "heisenbug" I've ever seen today. I had a server that wouldn't boot... but only whenever a monitor was plugged into it.
From a 1971 dissertation on the behavior of beavers: academia.edu/11986207/Obser…. Beavers are so cool. Their urge to build grows frantic as they detect imperfections in their construction, such as divets or holes or the sound of running water that implies a leak. I feel you, beaver.
