"Not everything needs to be an auto-layout", SAY IT LOUDER! Exactly how I do it. I do not start by auto-layouting everything. That's nonsensical. You want the freedom to move shit wherever you want, and you should be able to setup the design with proper white space/alignment…
With some encouragement from @DannPetty, I made a quick video to show you the handful of pieces of @figma’s auto layout that I use and all the stuff I ignore. Hit me if you have follow-up questions!
Word salad isn't just confined to the UX industry. It's in AI, too. 🤦♂️

Very nice!
Over the last two months, I’ve spent an hour a day talking to the most talented builders and designers in the industry. I’m trying to rediscover my love for the game as I build my new company. I decided to turn these conversations into a visual podcast called State of Play. I…
Everyone will hate me for this take, but I don't care.. Internet privacy laws suck. They have lead to a climate where you can't track where half or more of your orders originated from. I just want to know where they came from so that I know what's working. I don't care about…
I couldn't stand the "auto-layout everything" crowd. But now with the Figma MCP server, the real utility in using it lies in maximizing the chances that AI will implement the design correctly in the frontend. So, I've started using it, but only for that use case.
Never used auto layout and never will
If they haven't yet, they will very shortly. No excuse not to develop in the post-AI era.
I have a serious question for designers that only do design, no development, have you struggled with getting turned down by leads because you don't do development?
🚨BREAKING: Man tries to market his Gumroad clone and makes $4.01 during his first month. Reality check: The hard part is rarely the design/development. It's the marketing and sales that will crush your soul.

I've been a designer for 20+ years, decided to record my reaction to using Lovable for the first time.
...one of the featured projects on @lovable_dev's home page. Are these curated at all, or does anything go?

I have some thoughts about this, as a business owner.. The problem with the word "Capitalism" is that it has been tarnished. People equate it to greedy men who enslave workers. But all it really means is that people should have the right to start & own businesses, and hire those…
Capitalism has been so successful at eradicating poverty, hunger, and hardship that it gave rise to a generation utterly detached from the realities of production, trade, and effort. They’ve grown up in comfort, surrounded by abundance, and instead of gratitude, they respond with…
Last month I published 4 videos. In the last 5 days, I published 4 videos. We're back. I've been very lost the past couple years. But the path forward is finally clear. DesignCourse 3.0 is underway. The best product designers won't be those who rely solely on AI, and they…
"AI can't create anything new, it can only sample from things that already exist." Sounds like everyone human artist since forever. The anti-AI artist crowd really think they're so original 😅. Then, you look at their work, and it's like every other piece of art you've seen a…
