This week, it was a pleasure to celebrate the passage of the Protect Our Federal Workers Act and the Second Look Act. Thanks to our Majority Whip Delegate @JazzforMaryland and Delegate Cheryl Pasteur for introducing these important bills and helping lead the way to their passage.

Had a wonderful visit with the American Diversity Group this past Saturday at their East County Medical Clinic and Senior Coffee Club. Grateful for their work and all of the community health providers serving with care and compassion.
Kharis Lavender Fields is another immigrant owned business is District 14 and the venue is a symbol of strength and grace. With her family, Claudia Tsas started her business just 5 years ago, and it was an honor to celebrate her anniversary on May 27th. #ImmigrantHeritageMonth

For #ImmigrantHeritageMonth, Iβm proud to honor our immigrant communities and the neighborhoods that love them. At our town hall at Friends House, we learned about their citizenship initiative for workers, creating opportunities for immigrants to remain a part of our Democracy.

When the Justice Dept weakens voting rights, MD fights to protect it. Honored to see my work w/@Sen_M_Augustine and stakeholders conclude w/@GovWesMoore signing into law the Language Assistance Program for elections. This new program will bring language parity to the ballot box.

Facing our $3 billion deficit, I boldly pushed for MD to continue to invest $3.7 million annually through 2029 on therapeutic childcare. It was an honor to stand with @GovWesMoore and the many stakeholders in the fight to adequately fund this essential care.

Did you miss our legislative town hall in Burtonsville? Check out my 2025 Legislative Recap for some highlights from last session in the Maryland General Assembly.
My 2025-2026 Legislative Scholarship Application is still open! This is a great opportunity for District 14 students looking to receive additional money towards their education. βGo to my website or the link in bio to apply by May 31stβ

My Comprehensive Community Safety Funding Act would create dedicated funding for gun violence prevention programs in Maryland. While the bill didnβt pass, it is now more critical than ever as DOJ announces they are canceling federal funding for gun violence prevention.

At @LWVMD Breakfast w/ @GovWesMoore. Great to celebrate passage of my Language Assistance Bill HB983 w/ @CommonCauseMD and the @NAACP. Pictured are my Sorors Sen @ShanekaHenson, @EmergeMaryland Exec Dir Diane Emerson, and the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta.

This year is one of the few years where constituents across my district are celebrating Passover, Easter and Cambodian New Year around the same time. I enjoyed spending time at D14's Cambodian Buddhist Society, Inc. located in Silver Spring for their annual New Year Celebration.

HB983 pass the General Assembly, advancing language parity in Maryland elections. Thanks to my Senate crossfile Sen. Augustine, @CommonCauseMD @MDLatinoCaucus and AAPI caucus for their unwavering support this year.
Thanks to the work Del. McCaskill and the @BlackCaucusMD, we have ushered in a new era for Black MD by establishing the MD Reparations Commission We'll examine how we repair and redress the harm and impact of enslavement.

Congratulations to 10th grade students Kiran Durvasula, Dahlia Badt, and Zoe Hood from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland who won 2nd Prize for their documentary, βShe Deserves Justice: Reforming a Prison System That Fails Women.β studentcam.org/2025-2nd-prizeβ¦
It's a pleasure to be a part of the astonishing women that make up the General Assembly. We have varied backgrounds but share one common love for Maryland.

Congrats to the @Orioles on winning the opening game. Reflecting on taking my daughter to the first Orioles game. Hopefully not the last! Grateful to have a team that brings Maryland together!

March 30th marked Eid al-Fitr, the last day of fasting during Ramadan. Families everywhere celebrated another year of spiritual growth and reflection together. I wish those celebrating had a blessed Eid as they enjoyed the festivities with friends and loved ones.
