SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi is set to join high-level talks in Paris with President Macron, the Syrian Transitional Government (HTS), and UK/US officials (Tom Barrack?) — conflicting reports suggest he’s either just arrived or en route.

What we’re seeing in Syria is what the creation of any centralized nation-state of “one people” demands. You can’t do it without violence against other peoples / those who want any other type of governance. Such violence is hard to control and usually met with more violence.
