In July 2021, the same day that Jeff Bezos spent 5.5 Billion dollars for a 10 minute vanity flight into space, a man died of exhaustion on a Kellogg factory floor, worked to death in the heat. We are meant to believe that this is the good and natural order of the world.
Left and right libs both show their ass every time those who build and maintain society pop into public consciousness for a even minute, whether sanitation workers, longshoremen, railroad workers or the people that wipe their dad’s ass in the nursing home. It’s very instructive
I *wish* my union leadership was full of scoundrels. Instead it is full of careerists looking to get lobbying jobs in DC. The workers need scoundrels of our own, leaders who will actually fight alongside us, not manage us on behalf of the bosses or the politicians they cozy up to
The abundance argument against labor unions is the natural through-line of the logic of the NLRA. Organized labor needs to understand itself as a tool for the independent political power of our class, not as the third-party insurance policy the Wagner Act positions it.
