Also it was always described as ‘closing the Crescent’ when actually it was ‘opening the Crescent’ so people could enjoy it. The spin was toxic. No fun or community in Limerick. Back in your box , get in your car and drive to the Shopping Centre.
I don’t want to be hyperbolic but the cinnamon roll from the @wearecanteen Bread Shop in the Milk Market is as good as the Wild Onion ones from back in the day. It’s absolutely exceptional.

Why does the hospitality sector need an €800m handout from taxpayers when the evidence says the sector is doing fine?
Once more for those in the back - Metrolink is not only an airport line It serves 15 other stations, connecting 127 schools, 3 universities, 5 hospitals, and making over 175k people and 250k jobs accessible by foot to a stop. An estimated 18% of passengers will use airport stop
“The bicycle played a rich role in Ireland’s past. Now it is key to our future” Great piece on the resurgence of everyday cycling in Ireland in today’s Guardian. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
I completely agree with An Taisce here. If the Council is asking for funding and is nowhere near compliance with the minimum design standards the funder requires they simply won’t get the money. live95fm.ie/news/live95-ne…
Very disappointed not to see activation events in August. It was a great initiative last year and I would have loved to have seen it move to other parts of the city this year. It brought a lot of extra footfall and made the city centre a nicer place to be.
Mayor John Moran admits latest plan to close access point to Limerick is 'not good value for money' limerickleader.ie/news/business/…
Very disappointing news this week as promised #RoadSafety measures pushed back. Meanwhile already this year 91 people have been killed on the roads. We really must do more urgently to save lives. Each day we delay more families are destroyed. It could be yours. Nobody is immune!
Reducing the speed limit on National Secondary Roads from 100 km/h to 80 km/h was to reduce head-on collisions, which account for up to 45% of deaths on single-carriageway roads. At 80 km/h or more, head-on collisions are likely to be fatal, no matter what car you're driving.
Plans to lower 100kmh speed limits unravel amid delays and opt-out clauses for local authorities buff.ly/KDq56LV
Hey #Limerick friends 👋 Skywalker is missing - can you help us find her? She's a friend's family pet & is missing in Limerick so if you can share that'd be appreciated 🐈
Council meetings must be streamed and recorded. The public deserves transparency. Bad behaviour from some cllrs needs to be seen and the serious work of those doing the job properly needs to be heard. If you’re embarrassed to show the meeting, the problem isn’t the livestream.
I don't have the energy today to sum up how badly-run, poorly-focused, mostly fucking pointless, dramatically self-serving, comically indulgent today's meeting has been. Put the fucking feed on full display without application. Let everyone see how stupid it is.
Congrats to @catherinegalway on announcing her intention to run for president! She’s a seasoned cyclist and has been a great supporter of the Galway Cycling crew over the years, including the need for the Salthill Route. Great to see our first cycling candidate of the race!
