What are the First Amendment implications of the chairman of the FCC — literally the government regulator of the media — now making public declarations about what he considers acceptable and objectionable political speech, all while he makes policy decisions governing the press?
The partisan left’s ritualist wailing and gnashing of teeth over Colbert is quite revealing. They’re acting like they’re losing a loyal DNC spokesperson that was entitled to an exemption from the laws of economics.
the path to selling out is paved by people insisting they are moral and doing it for the Greater Good
"The young people who support Mamdani are good people, just putting their efforts towards the wrong solutions. I should know, I was once one of them."
In media, there are vast rewards for moving right - status, job security, media platforms. Doing the opposite incurs pain - defunding, deplatforming, denigration, job insecurity. Not surprisingly, many go for the reward, not the pain. It's why this kind of story is so banal.…

There’s this thing in elite media when someone gets fired by corporate overlords it is depicted as their “failure.” What’s even weirder is that Megyn herself was fired by NBC. You can love or hate these people — but judging them via what corporate suits think is weird.
"When he moved over to CBS, he decided to be more pundit. He desperately wanted to be Keith Olbermann. And guess what? Keith Olbermann is a failure, and now so are you, Stephen Colbert.” megynkelly.com/2025/07/18/meg…
