I am delighted that our most recent work about the origine of the vacuole has been finally published! doi.org/10.1093/plcell… A nice collaborative effort @minina_alyona @melaniekrebs01 @SchumacherLab @ULupanga

Happy 26th birthday! Celebrating over 25 years since the discovery of PINs, a protein family that has provided unparalleled insights into plant-specific mechanisms of development, polarity, and trafficking. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Creepy!
Paraisaria is a genus of fungi in the Ophiocordycipitaceae family. The fungus keeps the host alive as long as possible & directs the grasshopper to climb to a prominent exposed perch where spores are released. [📹 Alan Rockefeller]
I am happy that we could contribute to the new and exciting @NatureComms paper about the ribosome-associated trigger factor in Arabidopsis from Felix Willmunds group: rdcu.be/d59Ci

ROS bursts after auxin, RALF, eATP or mechanical bending? We monitored them all. What triggers them and what are they good for? Many surprises! Read our new preprint, a second one in a row. Thanks ISTA and Biology Centre CAS for amazing environment. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
The Quint lab in Halle offers an independent Postdoc position for up to 6 years! Great place to develop your own research line! Plz retweet and spread the word!
Happy and proud that my first PhD graduated! Congratulations ro Sabrina - you did an excellent Job. Thanks for @schwarzeacht to be second examiner and Ekkehard Neuhaus for being head of comitee @rptu_kl_ld

Fantastic phenotype :-)
Happy Friday everyone! Here are some cool Arabidopsis mini trees🌴 Arabidopsis arenosa hypocotyls can undergo extensive secondary growth and the rosettes that develop on top make them look like palm trees 🤯I wonder if this can be engineered in thaliana..
Microscopy reveals how a lipid in the cell membrane called PI(4,5)P2 controls the activity of an important receptor that relays signals in to cells. elifesciences.org/digests/101652…

I am deeply saddened to report that David Gordon Robinson passed away. Some words from @SchumacherLab @COSHeidelberg Stefan Hillmer and myself.

With great sadness, we have learned of the passing of David G. Robinson—a pivotal figure in plant cell biology and the heart and soul of the now-legendary ENPER meetings. I will remember him as an outstanding scientist, a passionate debater, and a friend.
Wow, they transferred chloroplast in animal cells and they were photosynthetically active for several days! pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39477444/
