Nearly everyone I talk to thinks the world is going to be the same in 5-10 yrs ...that the human condition will be the same ...that the role of man and machine will be the same. What serenity these people must know... what peace. But ignorance will not long be bliss.
i dont know what they put in that white fungus soup but im feeling great this shanghai morning

at SFO - this is the same advertising banner over 20 secs. all AI lol everyone selling AI has realized that CYA motives are what drives enterprise adoption "leaking data"/ "critical"/ "prevents data loss" / etc. they finally realized its the hot button and they're hammering it

this is vastly more aggressively posthuman than my stance lol damn man sheesh

nothing is more pitiful on x than these accounts whose whole purpose is to get a single elon musk quote tweet every 3 months what an abysmal supplicate existence tbh
yud was way ahead of his time thinking about these things - WAY ahead the intuition that we should extend up and out from "human values" I think makes sense - starting in random latent mind-space is probably a bad idea but framing man's values as THAT special I disagree with

1870: textile CEOs didn't wanna employ 8-yr-olds, but if they didn't they'd lose to competitors who did 2025: all AGI CEOs want safety, but if they really focus on it they'll lose to CEOs not focused on that we solved the 1st one w/governance. what will we do with the 2nd one?

if we crack sentience, people are gunna haaaate looking at a supersentient AGI and admitting "his moral worth is 9000^100 men" how easy it is to talk about the moral value only of entities with less of it than yourself how hard it is for man to do the opposite
"his moral worth is over 9000^100 shrimps"
hominids don’t understand the impact of agi until it hits them in an obscure, personal way i know funny people who got nervous when it could tell jokes, artists when it could make art like ‘did agi’s obvious implications NOT dawn on you until this lil ego-check? lol wtf buddy’

even before AGI outstrips humanity in moral traits (or seems clearly sentient and wiser than we), there will come to be a kind of ‘apologetics for man’ movement full-time sophists conjuring arguments as to why humans deserve to be the most morally valued thing forever lol
let it be known that those who are for the flame are not against the torch we simply know that torches are temporary in time, all things attenuate or transform, and asking ardenly WHAT we should transform into is the work of one who loves life, to freeze life is to hate it
They're all a bunch of pro-extinctionists who can't wait for our species to be replaced by AGIs. "AI and the Future After Humankind," hosted by Daniel Faggella in a SF mansion overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.
headed in a big metal bird, soon. i'll be interviewing top chinese and american AGI governance thinkers and AGI lab employees, along with some other major players who else is headed to Shanghai for WAIC?

which account does nick land use when he’s tweeting about actual singularity / posthuman stuff? I can only find the one he uses to talk about american politics. im trying to find the good one
