I have never moved on from this moment. This child, begging for life and protection, says "we want to shout and judge the the killers of children." I judge the killers of children. I will never forgive the killers of children and their comfortable apologists.
Kids in Gaza hosting a press conference, in English, to beg the world for life. “We come now to shout and invite you to protect us; we want to live, we want peace…we want to live as the other children live.” Over 4200 kids, like these, have been killed.
these same children who are starving to death right before our eyes tried holding press conferences begging us to save them in November 2023 and the world did nothing. I’ll genuinely never get over having to write these sentences as long as I live….the heart atrophies.
We're now, predictably, seeing so much of this, from amoral rats who cheered all of this on for 20 months -- despite knowing exactly what it would cause -- and now finally want to distance themselves from it to cleanse it from their conscience and legacy:

I don’t know how anyone can get up, function, go to work, and act as if all is normal and fine while millions of people are being starved to death by Israel, just across the Mediterranean. And all with the knowledge our government is complicit. It is unbearable.
Your charity, your words of shock after the genocide, won’t make a difference. We will not accept your apology after the genocide. What has been done, has been done. I want you to look in the mirror, and ask: where was I when Gaza was going through a genocide?

Nobody should be in prison for a tweet, or a chant. Nobody should be in prison for taking drugs, sex work, protesting, stealing nappies or food. Most crimes can either be prevented, or shouldn't be a crime. Prisons warehouse poverty, political dissent, and social crisis.
I wish there was the ability to have a genuine conversation on this. Mostly those who want Lucy Connolloy free want to punish bob and visa versa.
