Don't Look Up - The Documentary: The Case For AI As An Existential Threat.

So much of the debate about jobs and immigration's influence on employment is outdated. People passionately present contrasting opinions that share a common underlying false assumption: they assume a future where AI doesn't influence the job market at all.

Let's set aside AI's other huge risks and just focus on this for a minute: to build these systems, companies stole from billions of people worldwide as step one. How can we entrust our future in their hands?

While AI will probably make us dumber, it will also (I think) make us less emotional - to the point of apathy. We’ll potentially have much healthier bodies carrying a handicapped soul, perfect zombies with very little to contribute to the world. That’s if we survive it at all.

If someone said "I'm working on something that might kill everyone," they'd be stopped immediately. But if they said "I'm working on something that might kill everyone, but it would make a lot of money," then... well, that's where we actually are.

Every time I post a film, I know that a better title and thumbnail would work wonders, but I'm a one-man crew with no funding (apart from "Obsolete") and no monetization. It sucks, but I have no choice but to live with knowing my films never get the exposure I feel they deserve.

ASI Pros & Cons Normal people: ✅ Maybe cures for all diseases, maybe end scarcity. ❌ Probably no jobs, no money, no dignity, no agency, maybe…well, extinction. AI firms: ✅ Same cures, trillions in profit, godlike power. ❌ Same extinction risk.

It's not just that AIs are "black boxes", It's that the world is gradually "black-boxed" by AIs. So much that has happened IN the world: human activity, interactions, creativity, is replaced and pushed under the black veil of this technology to never be seen or understood again.
