🧵1/ New preprint! 🧠 Loneliness is a state that is comprised of a constellation of features (drive to socialize, unpleasant state, heightened vigilance) and we found that these features map onto different parallel circuits.

The Shuman Lab at @SinaiBrain is looking for new postdocs! With new funding💸 and students graduating🎓we now have 2+ postdoc positions open in the lab. We use in vivo recordings and manipulations to investigate memory circuits and how they go wrong in neurological diseases.👇
NEW PREPRINT! Led by @susie_feng, we characterized memory impairment and entorhinal-hippocampal desynchronization in epileptic mice. We found early hippocampal deficits and late-onset MEC deficits that emerged with progressively worse cognitive impairment. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
