Is there a good Discord bot/app that will monitor an open source GH repo and post to a channel when certain stuff happens, when reviews are needed, etc?
Whew. This one was some work. It's still very simple, but already has found some interesting stuff. github.com/slatedb/slated…
The stuff going on in SlateDB's #zerofs Discord channel right now is bonkers. ZeroFS now has: - NFS server - NBD server - Full encryption Checkpoints (and disk branching) are in progress... 🤯 discord.gg/NNtVmsPU
Just FYI, juicefs is licensed under Apache 2.0 now.

Are there any programming languages being build specifically for LLMs? Anyone aware of any projects or people working on this?
TBH, I'd put my money on something new. Something strongly typed, that isn't verbose (context window), with proof-like qualities that something like Rust has. IMO, there's potential for innovation here. Similar to my belief that LLM should speak substrait, not SQL.
But, plot twist: The much-discussed contraction in entry-level tech hiring appears to have *reversed* in recent months. In fact, relative to the pre-generative AI era, recent grads have secured coding jobs at the same rate as they’ve found any job, if not slightly higher.
Just spotted this for the first time "Simply paste the URL of this blog post into Claude and tell it to set it up for you." Blog posts written for the computer. Amazing. steipete.me/posts/command-…
This role is still open! Looking for a “GPU trader” who can work with me and optimize our resource management. Someone who loves statistics and algos and probably has a background in trading or data science.
I think this is the first usage of strong consistency in DynamoDB global tables to make an infrastructure product built on-top of it multi-region with very minimal changes. Worth a read just for the tech details!
🌑 Entire cloud region goes dark? Your streams shouldn't. WarpStream's new Multi‑Region Clusters replicate every write across 3 regions, delivering true RPO=0 and a 99.999% uptime SLA. Never lose a record, even during region‑wide outages. Read how it works ➡️…
Also, we are hiring for marketing, content, dev-rel and engineering roles here in SF, and across the US. Come build the future of BYOC with us!
"run everywhere" defeats the entire point of BYOC. It's a set of tradeoffs where you design for portability of environments (different clouds, k8s vs paas, just run a docker container). BYOC is designed for your customer's cloud account (let's be honest, AWS).
Data orchestration you can trust.
Switch from @astronomerio to Prefect, on our dime. Managed-Airflow contract tying your hands? We'll match what's left so you can migrate now. Hundreds of teams—including Fortune 100 data platforms—have already switched. prefec.tv/44XpUeh
This is a great summary of the history of Go’s garbage collector, and a small glimpse into why Go became so prevalent in the distributed systems space so quickly
The story of Go's garbage collector is one of the most remarkable engineering transformations in modern computing that I have ever studied about. When Go launched in 2009, its garbage collector would freeze applications for literal seconds, making it unusable for any serious…
