After the Tale of Buying Too Many Brown Paints, I'm pretty happy with the Cote d'Arms Rat Brown as a base for an updated PRDF paint scheme. I still have to varnish and add decals (and maybe dust off some old minis a bit). Army Painter Rust Tone made a nice pin wash too #HeavyGear

Well I got my tax holiday Heavy Gear stuff. Using some loyalty points and no taxes, I saved about 23% (and free shipping). Eagles will become Warrior Elite proxies (Stealth, Jetpack) to support the Vulture in my PRDF. #HeavyGear

Well, I wasn't expecting to have a Command Mammoth built in a few hours, but here we are (Tiger for scale). Decided to not make the legs swappable, I'll probably use the fixed legs for the Verder. Now to decide on base size... #heavygear

These Berserkers sure to take a lot of time to paint. #Warhammer40k #WarhammerCommunity #Khorne #WorldEaters

The yellow windows came out a bit brighter than intended, but I think it works. #HeavyGear

Back to Mekong gears, a Flammcobra. Decided to try a black-rimmed base rather than the regular brown, as with rounds it will be easier to spot any facing arc indicators I might put on later.

Varnishing, decals, more varnishing and basing added, these Peace River gears are finished! #HeavyGear

With my second Crusader MkV Crisis Responder, this group is ready for varnishing. Do you prefer the green or tan torso? I'm pretty happy with Cote D'arms Rat Brown, I may have to strip and repaint my Shinobi. #HeavyGear

The Argos was large, but the Greyhound is smol. A really good command vehicle, especially with the upgraded +1SP and ECCM. Weapons (MRF, LP, VB) covers all the necessary ranges, but could probably use a Panzerfaust upgrade for clutch damage. #HeavyGear

Man, the Argos is big. I mean, you think the Crusader is large, but the Argos towers over that gear. This has to be the biggest gear DP9 provides in metal, and I'm kind of surprised it's not in resin. Fewer weapons than a Kodiak or King Cobra, but still very scary. #HeavyGear

Adding talus to the bases is probably my least favorite part, which is why I do it in larger batches. You need to put glue over top afterwards to reduce any future flaking. Texture paint just isn't the same. #HeavyGear

Five more compounds ready for priming. I'm amazed I actually got to use all the wall segments, though I had to spend a few hours moving pieces around to find configurations that would work. #HeavyGear

It's been a fairly productive long weekend so far (Feb17 is a statutory holiday in Canada) #HeavyGear

To all Canadian Heavy Gear players, it's the last day to take advantage of the tax holiday on orders from Dream Pod 9. #HeavyGear #DreamPod9
