The County Highway arrives in Oxford, Mississippi, to pay our respects.

Ah, to be in Oxford with you. Bet someone will drive you over to pay respects.
Oxford, Miss — Come out and see 21st Century Faulkner Lee Clay Johnson and the legendary Gary Fisketjon as the County Highway Medicine Show rolls into town. Reading, hanging out, hats, t shirts, book signings and more! thelocalvoice.net/oxford/square-…
The healing power of music for teens, from Remedies superstar Amanda Fortini.
In my early teen years in suburban Illinois, during that purgatorial time when your hormones are screaming but you don’t have a driver’s license yet, a group of us would pass the time roller-skating in our friend Tara’s basement while listening to heavy metal. We liked Black…
We’ve completed our lucky 13 first stops on the County Highway Summer Tour 2025, and they’ve been amazing — with plenty more still to come. Here’s where to catch us:

Reminder to all Nashvillians and Nashvillains — we’re on at 4 pm at Grimey’s, with County Highway editor’s and writers, Panamerica’s Gary Fisketjon, and local boy made good Lee Clay Johnson, reading from his new novel “Bloodline.” Plus live music, merch and more!

The first leg of our Southern Tour, on which “Bloodline” author Lee Clay Johnson will offer land acknowledgements to the Snopes family, whose fictional terroir he poached on for his novel. Be there!

This @AirMailWeekly piece by Ash Carter, about Gary Fisketjon and @PanamericaBooks—the new publishing arm of @countyhwy—is excellent and worth your time. I highly recommend it.
RIP Ozzy. The original Ironman. Early Black Sabbath was a portal into a demented netherworld of strong cheap drugs, fried synapses, strange paranoia & the heaviest weaponry ever committed to wax. They invented several genres & snapped the neck off of popular sound. A true mutant.
...just coming back to this. County Highway would gobble him up! But would a man in only-white suits be able to tolerate newsprint???? (My first wife who couldn't stand him put a big hand print on the back of his white suit at a Harper's party in the late 1980s, god bless her...)
You shouldn’t miss @countyhwy’s Nashville roadshow stop at @Grimeys on Wednesday. I talk about the pub that has become media’s gold standard in today’s @realpamphleteer. pamphleteer.co/post/summer-sp…
Shout out to the Pamphleteer for a great write-up of the tour leading up to our 5-star event at Grimey’s in Nashville 4 pm tomorrow — with our writers and editors, novelist Lee Clay Johnson, Panamerica editor Gary Fisketjon, live music, merch and more! pamphleteer.co/post/summer-sp…
Had a great time at the @countyhwy DC tour stop at @solidstatedc w Lee Clay Johnson & Gary Fisketjon. It’s not a question. County Highway is just the best writing available in America. Had to go. @walterkirn @PanamericaBooks
The summer tour van stopped tonight at Solid State Books — which promotes literary coolness in our nation’s capital. Star CH writers Noah Rawlings and Valen Lambert appeared, along with “Bloodline” author Lee Clay Johnson and Panamerica’s Gary Fisketjon

Add some civility to the often dehumanizing air travel experience with a copy of @countyhwy
Nashville arts reporters! Did you know that Lee Clay Johnson, who is reading from his hilarious new Tennessee novel “Bloodline” at Grimey’s on Wednesday, grew up as a touring musician in the Johnson family bluegrass dynasty? Gary Fisketjon will be there too.
I consider @DuncanMoench 's article, "Soylent Screens," in @countyhwy - July-August's Jeremiad and an epistle on producerism - quite an important read, if anyone cares.
Attention New Yorkers: The @countyhwy event last night in Boston was a blast--with a great reading by Lee Clay Johnson from his new novel. It's a tour not to be missed!
We are for real! The County Highway summer tour rolls into the Seaport McNally Miss Jackson in NYC tonite with a fresh all star line-up, including the return of Gary Fisketjon, Jim Shepard and Lee Clay Johnson, plus Young Guns Noah Rawlings and Chandler Fritz! FREE DONUTS
