Obsessing over the Mark Latham portrait is perhaps the perfect Canberra press gallery story. No normal person was aware of it before today and no normal person is impacted in one way or the other if a portrait in a room they will never enter stays on the wall or not.

It’s amazing how many people read this sign and just interpret it to mean something entirely different to what the sign actually says. It says students stand for adults. It says exactly nothing about standing for disabled or pregnant women. Open the schools!
