Got this lovely free gift from Guinness in the post. Received a letter acknowledging my efforts with club and county. I realised when I saw the parcel that this package was actually meant for a Tyrone footballer of the same name.

The last 11 All-Ireland winners have beaten @WaterfordGAA hurlers on route to winning Liam McCarthy. 16 of the last 18 All-Ireland hurling champions have defeated Waterford before lifting the trophy.
Tipperary hurlers turned around a 30 point margin in 84 days. Lost a Championship match on April 27th by 15 points and won by 15 points against same opponents less than 3 months later. Remarkable turnaround and may never be seen in the GAA before or after.
Tipperary have beaten Kilkenny on 16 occasions in the history of Championship hurling. On all 16 occasions, Tipperary lifted the Liam McCarthy Cup the season they beat Kilkenny. Last 4 All Ireland champions have all beaten Kilkenny on route to glory (And Cork).
Since September 2010, 27 teams have lost an All-Ireland final. (2010 - 2024). None of those 27 teams have won a football or hurling All-Ireland the following season. Curse of the beaten finalist haunts Cork and Galway in 2025.
In the 2018 All Ireland u21 final, Tipperary, managed by Liam Cahill defeated Cork. Cork had previously hammered them in the Munster Championship (13 points) and lost final as heavy favourites. In 2025, history repeated itself.
List of All Ireland hurling winners in last 10 seasons (2016 - 2025) - Senior, U20/U21, Minor Tipperary: 9 Limerick: 6 Galway: 5 Cork: 4 Clare: 2 Waterford: 2 Kilkenny: 1 Offaly: 1 The GAA was formed in Thurles in 1884 and 141 years on, Tipperary are Senior and u-20 champions.
Great to be here in Croke Park for today’s All Ireland final.

In the history of the All Ireland hurling Championship @TipperaryGAA have beaten @KilkennyCLG 16 times. On the 15 previous occasions, Tipperary have won the All-Ireland after eliminating Kilkenny. Could history repeat itself a 16th time tomorrow?
No football team have ever won an All Ireland after losing a championship match to a county from another province. If Donegal win that record will be maintained. If Kerry win they will make history.
In Jack O’Connors second term as Kerry manager, he won an All Ireland in his first year (2009), lost a final narrowly to Dublin, eliminated before a final against an Ulster team and his last match was a loss to Donegal managed by Jim McGuinness. Could history repeat itself?
Robbie Brennan and Malachy O’Rourke managed against each other in the infamous 2024 All Ireland club final. Both could also manage against each other in an All Ireland inter-county final. This has never happened in the history of the GAA but will occur if Meath and Tyrone win.
