I closed down my old website. I have transferred all those podcast to a free host and the new site is anchor.fm/cmp-archive
#PlagueHouse #4 by @michaelwconrad and Dave Chisholm. Del’s days of ghost hunting and “helping” the ghosts are over. He reflects on his time with his former teammates and giving some insight as to why ghosts exist in our world. Excellent end to a great series. Recommend.

#GhostPepper #1 by @ludolullabi. Lullabi’s love of anime/manga is all over this comic and I am here for it. I grew up on Akira & Appleseed and I see those influences in the story and art. Loloi, she’s a food truck chef saves Ash from Bataar in a post apocalypse world. Recommend.

#Imperial #2 by Jonathan Hickman, @FredVice_Art & @IbanCoello. 2 assassinations by a Wakandan soldier leads to an all out war: Every Galactic government vs The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. This is the all action issue that has a few surprises in it. Recommend.

#AbsoluteBatman #10 by @Ssnyder1835 and Nick Dragotta. Batman was captured by Ark-M and they experiment on him. They force Batman to fight Bane and K.L.A.Y. to test him. Killer Croc is introduced in this issue in ‘Absolute Batman Over The Top’ style. Recommend.

#BatmanGothamByGaslightALeagueForJustice #1 by @andydiggle and @Leo_Fernandez_. This is a continuation of the Kryptonian Age story. All the Justice League heroes meet for the first time in 1860. The heroes foil Lex Luthor’s plan and discover a secret. Recommend.

#DontForgetYourBriefcase #1 by Eliot Rahal & Phillip Sevy. You get the history of the Atomic Football, the briefcase that allows the US President access to fire nuclear weapons. Good setup with a twist ending. Story reminds me of the book, The Mouse That Roared. Recommend.

#ThePaleKnight #2 by @1PeterMilligan and Val Rodrigues. Knight Sir Hugh De Darcy agrees to kill Gilbert the Pure for Death in order to save the life of his son. Hugh sees many atrocities on his journey based on historical fact. Recommend.

#BeneathTheTreesWhereNobodySeesRiteOfSpring #1 by @PatrickHorvath and @ElhaouHassan. This is the follow up to last year’s series. We follow Monica Brewer who is looking for her missing brother. You see how much of her life she’s giving up to just get answers. Excellent story.

#UltimateSpiderManIncursion #2 by Deniz Camp, Cody Ziglar and @scharf_jonas. Miles has teamed up with Ant-Man and Wasp from the Ultimates to track down his missing sister. Their travels lead to Wakanda but unfortunately, other parties will interfere with Miles’s reunion.

#TheFantasticFour #FirstSteps #1 by Matt Fraction and Mark Buckingham. This is a retelling of the original FF #1 from 1961 but featuring the actors from the upcoming movie. It has Mole Man as the villain and fake 1961 ads and interviews. Fun read.

#UnChosen #1 by @DaveMarquez. We learn about our main character, Aida who was born with the gift of The Word, a magic ability. She used her untrained gift with disastrous results. Luckily, there is a school she goes to that helps train The Word. Interesting start. Recommend.

#WhatEverHappenedToTheCrimsonJustice #2 by @FrankTieri and @InakiMiranda. Dr. Mayhem is back from the dead and out for revenge against anyone who betrayed him. He’s causing major damage to Empire City. Crimson Justice can’t help because he’s talking to his dead past. Recommend.

#TheyChoseViolence #1 by Sheldon Allen and Mauricio Campetella. This book is about 3 women who take vengeance on corrupt cops, lawyers and members of government after decades of real world injustice. Their next target is controversial. It reads like a blaxploitation movie.

#WildAnimals #1 by @edbrisson and @andykuhn. Neil Hasselmann is not having the greatest life. He lost his father and was burned on his face on the same day. This event mentality and physically scarred him for life. After another loss, Neil is looking for vengeance. Recommend.

#FantasticFour #1 by Ryan North and @humberto_ramos. The FF take on Emperor Doom but he is too powerful and banishes them across time. Luckily, Reed planned for this eventuality. Now each member has to survive and find each other through time. Very creative and highly recommend.

I was able to see #Superman spoiler free today. Great movie with an original story. The characters and places feel very much like their comic counterparts. Corenswet was great but Hoult was brilliant as Lex Luthor. @JamesGunn has another hit.

#GehennaNakedAggression #1 by @PatrickKindlon and @reghigo. If you think the art on the cover looks great, wait until you see the interiors: gorgeous detailed action filled pages. This is Gehenna’s revenge story and it’s exceptionally paced. Recommend.

#AllNewVenom #8 by Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez. Anti-Venom and Venom’s ruse against SCAR works. Venom escapes but Dylan Brock learns the turn identity of Venom and the location of Sleeper. Will Dylan use Sleeper to get Venom’s symbiote back? Recommend.
