Mental fitness will overtake physical fitness within the next 5 years. Aristotle said, "The energy of the mind is the essence of life." Your mind is affected by your daily thoughts, habits and unconscious biases. Mental fitness helps you build resilience and thrive. Without…

John Harbaugh literally gave one of the best explanations of servant leadership I've ever heard. It changes how you think about being in charge.

PJ Fleck said, "When you're infectious and guys want to be like you and then they react to what you want them to do that's the sign of true leadership." "When you get people to do extraordinary things." Great leaders bring consistent energy, belief, and selflessness to teams.
Tom Brady said, "It's no excuses. It's no whining. It's no complaining. Did you win or did you lose? End of story." You're either owning your results or deflecting. You can't control every outcome, but you can choose ownership over excuses.

Kobe Bryant said, "Leadership is lonely." "If you're going to be a leader, you're not going to please everybody. You've got to hold people accountable." Leadership is hard. • It means courage. • It means accountability. • It means doing what's right for the team.
Dan Quinn said something about "nice" coaches that most people misunderstand completely. His insight explains why so many well-meaning leaders fail their teams. It's not about being mean. It's about mastering these 3 things:🧵
1: Caring for your people "My players accept hard coaching because they know how much we love them." Great coaches want what's best for you. They care for you as a person. They believe in your potential. It's why they hold you to a standard - they want what's best for you.
Brad Stevens said, "The best leaders are warm and demanding." The best leaders balance the ability to challenge you and care for you. • They set high standards. • They care for you. • They push you. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
George Kittle said, "I'm a big believer that you surround yourself with good people which brings the best out of you." You don't rise alone - you rise with your circle. Surround yourself with people who: • Support you. • Believe in you. • Want what's best for you.

"Sometimes as coaches and leaders, you have to tell them the things they don't want to hear. I'm comfortable doing that because they know I come from a place that I care about them." The secret isn't being nice. It's balancing care with challenge. Mastering these 3 skills...
3: Pushing beyond comfort zones "Get comfortable being uncomfortable." Growth doesn't happen without discomfort. Great coaches challenge and develop. • They expect you to face adversity. • They refuse to accept the status quo. This is where development starts.
Ray Lewis said, "That's why kids have a problem finishing things today. Because as soon as they feel a small bit of discomfort...they're gone." "The greatest pain of my life is the reason I'm standing here today." To overcome adversity, you have to be willing to face it.
