Some personal news as they say… 🥁 I am writing a book! Storytelling - who does it well, how it can be used to fuel success in the business world or mask epic failures - is a topic that I’ve been obsessed with for a long time.

Editorial question for Second Opinion readers. For the news round up, we have a “POV” section that shares some thinking about the news and gives it context. Would you rather hear a hot take on the news from:
In the age of AI, it's more important than ever for founders to engage with editorial & PR, have a POV, and be able to share it clearly. People can tell when something is ghostwritten! My tips for how founders should think through editorial in @chrissyfarr's Second Opinion:…
I’m reading about the layoffs at Fortune, and the impact on the health and wellness section. It is SO hard to be a journalist at the time we’re living in.
Massive policy changes like the One Big Beautiful Bill surface fragility in our public infrastructure. These are the moments to build technology that empower people. At Fortuna, we’re proud to bring simplicity, efficiency, and autonomy to Medicaid and government health programs.…
Major behavioral health news is out. Lyra just acquired Bend Health, undoubtedly to move more deeply into pediatrics! businesswire.com/news/home/2025…
I think this is a false dichotomy in healthcare. Companies that seek out “success” but not “attention,” will struggle when incumbents are so powerful. M&A outcomes also favor those that can do both - attention, meets success, because incumbents want to align with innovators.…
Good read from @FinnMurphy12 on understanding which game you are playing in venture capital. It's worth emphasizing, with so much focus on attention, that there are (basically) two paths: 1) There are startups that are great at capturing our attention; hot technology,…
Question for Canadian friends: How are you all getting access to GLP-1s? Is it mostly through the public health system, or paid out of pocket via telemedicine services? Or a combo of the two?
I completely agree. AMO has had a number of stories published under embargo on days we don’t run the newsletter. It gets included in the next issue, but that could be 2-3 days later, missing out on peak earned media.
PSA: A lot of new media is moving to the newsletter format and embargoes really don’t work. Many newsletters are not daily, but once or twice a week.

What happened at Windsurf allegedly where founders got millions and employees got nothing HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. If Board can claw back $ or make employees whole, guess what so many will choose. It’s why it is so hard to do the startup thing as an employee.
As a parent, this week sucks. Those sweet girls. I can’t.
There’s AI tools that sell to providers, and then there’s virtual and hybrid clinic businesses that use AI to be far more efficient. I’m Bullish that there will be big breakout successes in both.
