Royal Fisherman, oil - Surely the UK's most colourful birds, and one of my absolute favourites to paint. This is a local Kingfisher, seen at the Welsh Wildlife Center here in Pembrokeshire. #birds
We live in rural west Wales, most days we see foxes foraging or playing amongst the horses in the fields. Each year, in Spring, we watch as young playful cubs grow into bold teenagers, before dispersing in autumn, leaving the adults to start the cycle over again. #FoxOfTheDay

Don't look up. The Robin is the UK's national bird, both male and female Robins hold their own territories in the winter, and both sexes sing the same winter song. Robins were declared Britain's National Bird on December 15th, 1960. #birdwatching #birds #bird

Sea Skimmer. Fulmar can live up to 35 years, and return to the same nest site each year. They are one of just three bird species recorded on or near the North Pole. The others are the Snow Bunting and the Black-Legged Kittiwake. #birds

'The Old Boat House', 24x18inch, oil. Old tin sheds have a certain appeal. I enjoy painting them. This one was at Caernarfon, North Wales, not far from the castle. I've no idea what was in it, or what it was really used for, the figure wasn't there in reality.

Fly-by. Puffin's wings are small for their body size and they have to flap at around 400 beats per minute. Expert divers, they also flap their wings to swim underwater, and can dive to depths of 60 metres (200 feet). #birdwatching #birdphotography #bird
