Marine ecologist convinced that we can rebuild marine life by 2050. Are we up to the challenge?
Delighted to see my book "Ocean: The Secret of Planet Earth" out! urldefense.com/v3/__https://l…$

Goodbye Twitter, learned much and discovered cool things with you However, I no longer recognize you in X Follow me to Bluesky @carlosduartephd
This paper shows that X (formerly Twitter) is a toxic platform managed to polarize views and promote toxic interactions. Time to leave X! My next post will be to say goodbye and provide my new social media address in a non toxic, decentralized platform nature.com/articles/s4146…
Thinking about the same action, so will follow you to Bluesky
I am trying Bluesky.
Congratulations Kylie! Well deserved recognition! You are a star!
Honoured to be awarded the #engagementaustralia #excellenceawards for the wonderful partnership between @Griffith_Uni and @SeaWorldAU. Fabulous recognition for the teams of Griffith researchers and Sea World staff who work together to find solutions and promote marine science.
A pioneer of electric mobility and now recognised on the TIME100 Climate List for 2024... Congratulations to our Co-founder Alejandro Agag on the recognition 👏 #E1Series #ChampionsOfTheWater
Great respect for American humanists, no stone thrown… only noticing (a) 2nd time Pres. Trump elected, so voters were aware of what to expect; (b) only the Green candidate opposed war, receiving 0.4% of popular vote. SA is making great strides in a + direction.
As a European, you should probably add F.D. Roosevelt, as well. Many Americans citizens remain committed to humanism under trying circumstances. Believe me, I find no comfort in replying. My point was that perhaps one should be mindful of one's own kingdom when throwing stones.
Finding confort in such statement is part of the problem. I was thinking of A. Lincoln, M. L. King Jr., Jefferson and the many American citizens that built the - now broken - foundations of humanism.
Sad indeed, but SA never had any.
US moral authority is long gone…
Trump's climate denialism will result in massive loss of the US's moral authority and it's economic opportunities in addressing the global climate crisis.
Agreed, with much sadness, bitterness and frustration. The basic humanistic principles upon which any world order may rest is broken and in urgent need of repair. We need moral leaders of the stature of Mandela and Luther King, but none are in sight.
Over 51 dead in the unprecedented floods in Spain… too much energy in the ocean, transferred to the atmosphere We start to see what an ocean at +1.5 C means for us Time to accelerate climate action
