Don't drop out of college to start or work for a startup. There will be other (and probably better) startup opportunities, but you can't get your college years back.
Excellent coffee, croissants, and startup/VC/LP conversations this morning. Go France! 🇫🇷

Big firm VC just got told we only have 3 months of runway left. And company needs a bridge financing.

I feel there are few areas China is going to leapfrog US in major ways in coming years. We have a LOT of work to do. For example drug discovery/development, battery materials, nuclear, civil engineering. Confluence of AI x science x robotics/automation accelerating work.
Life is about experiences. Attending an outdoor wedding of a defensetech exec in Europe with pouring rain, and joining into a Board call where I am an observer at the same time. Making new friends huddled under few available umbrellas :-)
A sign a person may have reached their peak in tech: starts asking kids to drop out of college to start companies. Happens every cycle. Usually done by people who themselves went to top schools. There are very few true geniuses. Others risk becoming collateral damage.
Genius idea! Federal revenues will keep going up if you keep raising effective tax on Americans.
We've brought in nearly $100B in tariff revenue so far and are on track for $300B this year. That's almost 1% of GDP. June delivered a budget surplus with higher revenue and lower spending. This is how we clean up the fiscal mess we inherited.
Most people may have been silenced by freaks in power, but the killings have not stopped. God will question each of us on the day of judgement: “What did you do?”

Sadly, we lost my dad in the recent attacks on my hometown, Sweida, in Syria. He was a creative, a designer, and an artist. From fashion design to furniture, sculptures, and art installations—a few that could even fly—he gave back to humanity through his art. He taught me to…

One weird thing… You see your male friends age gracefully, their hair turns more salt and pepper by the day, wisdom setting in. And then they suddenly color their hair and try to look 20 years younger. Why?!
Caught up with @Nominal_io team at 2am Dubai time. Now I am so pumped up I can’t go to sleep. 😬
Immigration in Dubai took me a total of 10 seconds. You can just do things. 🇦🇪
Gustavs spent last summer and then the semester working with me on AI x deeptech. From offensive cybersecurity to AI-enabled manufacturing. And more recently on insuring AI delivers promised returns. Below is a wonderful post on his thoughts in AI x strategic security space.
AI is changing the nature of strategic competition. I wrote a piece @FSIStanford on the geopolitics of artificial general intelligence: from the race to automate ML R&D and hyperscale manufacturing to counter-proliferation and nuclear deterrence. AGI and the The Fourth Offset
