This discourse is always ridiculous, but entire swaths of people will gladly and vehemently call/compare lesbians as a whole to violently misogynist incels for expressing love for female characters
Male/female gacha discourse again. I'll say one thing I've noticed is that male character enjoyers are constantly put under a microscope by other players. The weirdos get so easily picked out and generalized meanwhile the same usually isnt done for the other side.
Not trying to give Hoyo props for anything, but if the devs put cultural aspects into a design that people from within that culture can immediately recognize, they're very obviously not trying to cater to you as someone outside of that culture lol
