New lesion study of dyskinetic CP. Wondering how similar / dissimilar network is to lesion associated dystonia, which implicated SCAN? doi.org/10.1002/ana.27…
Marcelino and Al-Fatly et al. report literature-based lesion network mapping of dyskinetic cerebral palsy. Grey matter lesions are the most common MRI finding; the motor thalamus is a converging node of a wide functional network. Read at buff.ly/IyRv0E0.
Very excited to have Mark Bowren join our U. of Iowa faculty in July. Check out his open RA and post-doc positions. Awesome opportunity for anyone interested in lesion research and virtual lesions using a novel ultra high frequency intracranial stim. Exciting stuff to come…
In ~2 weeks I'll begin launching my lab, the Brain Lesion and Neuromodulation Lab! I'm looking to fill 2 roles: 1 RA & 1 postdoc. If you're interested in intracranial electrical stimulation, lesion-deficit mapping, and/or neuropsychology, reach out! Official postings to come.
What brain regions are involved in causing psychotic symptoms? Take a moment away from the existential dread about the future of science, and join me in this summary of some incredibly cool stuff that could help patients! 1/n🧵 jamanetwork.com/journals/jamap…

In the action-mode, arousal is heightened, attention focused externally, and plans are converted to goal-directed movements and updated based on feedback, such as pain. The brain’s action-mode is created by a dedicated action-mode network (AMN) rdcu.be/d5odm. In the…
