It’s live! I sat down with Celine Song last Sunday for @awards_watch to talk Materialists, how it reflects her filmmaking ambitions, and working with her crackerjack trio of Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal. A wonderful chat! awardswatch.com/materialists-d…
I’m getting Vanity 6 looks
FLO at lollapalooza!!! IT WAS SOOO GOOD 🔥
I’ll be honest: my fever for this film cooled a bit after Cannes but I’m still very much in the paint for this.

NY film fans gonna be at Lincoln Center on September 26th doing the ONE BATTLE AFTER THE HUNT double bill.
A very good thread:
With love and light, I don’t think some people remember The Devil Wears Prada beyond the cerulean sweater scene and the outfit montage based on the response to the sequel costumes. ⬇️
I typically don’t do horror, but Corey Hawkins and Willem Dafoe feels unmissable. I’ve got my eye on this one, too.
#TIFF50 World Premiere: 🚪 THE MAN IN MY BASEMENT dir. Nadia Latif
*pencils into draft schedule*
So @TIFF_NET just dropped the Discovery lineup and I gotta shout out EGGHEAD REPUBLIC, THE MAN IN THE BASEMENT and MAGGIE’S SECRET as honorary Midnight Madness titles within this 1st/2nd feature section! All wildly compelling future cult films… #tiff50
I’ve got my eye on this one. A co-production between Switzerland and South Africa feels novel and I’m curious to see how it nets out.
#TIFF50 World Premiere: 🧺 LAUNDRY dir. Zamo Mkhwanazi
Dewgong should get a part-Fairy Mega Evolution or regional form.
One down, 17 more to go
Woof. I mean, this person is right and they should absolutely say it, but…woof.
It only took a monopolistic industry corporate buyout that costs thousands of jobs to do it but we have first Fantastic Four film with a majority of the critics liking it.
WHOA!
We’re thrilled to announce that Luca Guadagnino’s AFTER THE HUNT, starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, and Andrew Garfield, is the #NYFF63 Opening Night selection, making its North American premiere on September 26! Opening Night is presented in partnership with @ROLEX. Reserve…
I forgot after Challengers that people really ride for Mike Faist on here, lol. To clarify, he’s absolutely in this movie and would probably get the Oscar nomination he should’ve gotten for West Side Story (and the Golden Globe nomination he should’ve gotten for Challengers).
Bradley Cooper, go through the MGM archives, dust off an old or forgotten musical script, and get Jeremy, David, and Darren on the phone immediately. (And call Tom Holland while you’re at it. We don’t have time for these games anymore.)
Slightly the point of this tweet, but Grace Kelly is generationally beautiful in Rear Window. Like, it’s almost abnormal (to borrow a phrase from Elizabeth Taylor).
it’s one thing for there to be a whole movie about a guy avoiding having sex with grace kelly but it’s wild that there are two
I cannot believe there are two active arguments on here about actors being gainfully employed.
its literally public domain now. please god

This is very true. I didn’t follow a traditional path either, but I worked my ass off, made plenty of mistakes (like not having a backup recording of my interview with Jamie Bell when we spoke about All of Us Strangers, lol), and learned from them. The rigor makes the difference.
Hmmm, idk this tone omits the journalists who have learned adjacent degrees and/or learned on the job, in news rooms or under editorial guidance. I think this era, more than any other before needs journalism with integrity, I just think that can be taught with/without a degree
