The Blade is getting itself into increasing legal trouble with its workers. The latest example? We’ve filed another unfair labor practice charge in recent days over one of our members who was required to perform struck work for our sister paper, the Post-Gazette. THREAD:
We’re thrilled about The Paper! We noticed though that while the show’s writers had visited our newsroom for research, they missed a detail. The office in the promotional is clearly loosely based on ours. It’s missing the dingy feel and leaky ceiling that we’re familiar with.

Great news out of Pittsburgh! We are well acquainted with the unreal levels of disrespect shown by the Blocks. We’re eager to ramp up our fight to win the respect we all deserve. ✊
BREAKING: Today the 3rd Circuit Court enjoined the @PittsburghPG, ordering the company to — upon request — immediately restore the health care it illegally took away in 2020, and bargain with us. This is an enormous win and the most consequential day of our entire strike.
We delivered to Blade mgmt. a letter signed by the majority of members demanding: -Pay for the time it takes to complete the workload being asked of us. -Ending the current policy of overwork & job sharing. -Transparency on overtime & budgeting. -Respect. We won't accept less.
👀 This is great, overdue news out of Pittsburgh as our union siblings have been on strike for 2+ years. We’re familiar with the company’s stonewalling tactics as we fight both for a new contract and to hold the Blocks accountable to us and our community. 💪
BREAKING: The @NLRB has filed to enjoin the @PittsburghPG to stop its years of breaking federal labor law. This could’ve been avoided by the PG bargaining in good faith. We’ve struck for 2+ years to restore our contract & get decent health care. This injunction would grant that.

We are thrilled that the NLRB announced it’s seeking an injunction against the @postgazette. The PG could've avoided this by simply agreeing to dignified terms with us & our striking union siblings @cwaunion & PPPWU at any point in the last 18 months.. pghguild.com/2024/04/19/lab…
