My dad thought I was crazy when I told him that I wanted to build a startup (alongside managing our well-established family business). Today, an uncle came to our office and appreciated what we are doing at STRCH. My dad didn't say much; his smile said it all. :)
The best work-culture hack is letting people own their work. Not hovering, not tweaking every decision, just saying: "You're leading this; run it your way," and honestly, when people feel it's theirs, they think sharply, take smarter risks, and care about the result.
I started @strchindia even when I had the option to continue our 64-year-old legacy business. But I chose to build something of my own, and I'm glad I did. From that first customer to now, I've learned things I never would've if I hadn't taken the leap.
