Not the real Sergei Berezin.
Victor Johansson went from a no-name 4th round pick by the Maple Leafs in 2024 to being a legitimate candidate for a spot on Team Sweden at this year's World Junior tournament. Positive sign for his development.
The 🇸🇪 roster for World Junior Summer Showcase.
SICK.
Hearing that the #Canucks have dealt Dakota Joshua to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a fourth-round pick.
Terminating Ty Voit's contract doesn't make a lot of sense. The Maple Leafs are now at 41 of 50 contracts.
Joni Jurmo (CAL) & Ty Voit (TOR) both on unconditional waivers to terminate contracts
At this point, the best time to acquire a top 6 forward is going to be a few months into the season when teams at the bottom of the standings decide to tank hard by gutting their rosters to get Gavin McKenna. Unless Brad Treliving gets a deal now, it's probably best to wait.
Matt Murray is a legend solely based on his attitude. It's unfortunate his play couldn't keep him in Toronto longer.
🚨🎙️ Matt Murray on his time with the Maple Leafs: “It was my dad’s favorite team, and it was the first NHL hockey game I ever went to with my dad. I thought it was the honor of a lifetime to wear that jersey. Like I said, it had a special place in my heart just from family…
Jeff Skinner is back to not giving a fuck about playing in the playoffs.
Sharks sign Jeff Skinner to a 1-year, $3M deal
Henry Thrun is a promising young defenceman. Getting anything of value for Ryan Reaves is nice asset management.
🔁 The #SJSharks have acquired Ryan Reaves from the Maple Leafs.
I'm almost 40 and it took me this long to understand why old people in the suburbs have "No Soliciting" signs at their front doors.
This is why people use illegal online streams to watch live sports. Scam.
Lol absolutely NOT
Edmonton fans seem to think they got a saviour in Isaac Howard but I'm having a difficult time doubting the Tampa's decision to forego signing Howard. Tampa develops impact players out of nothing. There must be something there that they didn't commit to Howard from day one.
🚨 TRADE ALERT 🚨 The #Oilers have acquired forward Isaac Howard from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forward Sam O'Reilly. We have also signed Howard to a three-year entry-level contract.
I take Max Domi all day over Jack Roslovic strictly based on the Passion that Domi brings. Roslovic can probably put up 40 points but that's realistically all you can count on him for. In no world does he deserve a penny over $3.5M for 2 years max.
Matthew Knies signing for 6 years.
Those who have had depression and now don't, what finally worked?
Jack Roslovic isn't the answer. At best, he's a 3rd line winger who can occasionally take faceoffs. The only way he makes sense for Toronto is at under $3.5M for a year or two AND they trade Kampf and/or Jarnkrok. Anything more likely ends up being an overpayment.
There are probably a number of available free agents that people are scoffing at right now but they'll show up in the playoffs in the near future and everyone will be blown away that they were overlooked in free agency.
Destiny awaits
Troy Terry is reportedly available. He's under contract for 5 more years at $7M. He'll be 32 when his contract expires. Terry is a playmaker who could put up 75+ points playing 1st line RW next to (former teammate and friend) Auston Matthews. Makes a lot of sense for Toronto.
Anaheim's cap situation is fascinating. Over the last 2 years, they've added: Trouba Kreider Granlund Gudas Killorn = $32M In the next year, they need to re-sign: McTavish Carlsson Gauthier Dostal LaCombe Mintyukov Zellweger The young guys will likely cost around $40M.
Ben Danford is maybe one of three or four prospects the Maple Leafs have that likely has any real trade value. Is his upside that high that he's become untradable, even in a deal for a top 6 forward? I find it extremely hard to believe.
