This is insane. The US government is dumping Asian and African families and children in random countries that they have no connection to. Dumping, not "deporting." Deportation implies the return of a person to their home country. This is treating people like toxic waste.

I just heard NPR call “DOGE” “Musk’s government efficiency team.” That seems like journo malpractice at this point - repeating the disingenuous self-description of a team that, the evidence suggests, has far different aims than just making efficiency tweaks.

Great to see such commitment. @hrw continues to call on the Thai govt not to deport the Uyghurs to China. Instead, Thailand should allow the UN refugee agency to screen the 48 Uyghurs so they can move on to a safe third country, from a decade of immigration detention in Thailand.
