As a triangle offense coach myself, it was confusing to me to see how often Kobe not utilize the offense itself to generate easier looks
why not take easier shots then? genuinely wanna hear your answer
I have tried to tell people for years that 1 footed 3s are the next evolution of 3 point shooting. What Marine Johannes just did with the 1 hander is something else!!!
she’ll hit something like this and then crack the slightest smile as a celebration
Gorgeous step thru, and legal at all levels, so make sure you're teaching this as it's a tremendous advantage. It used to be taught in the '50s and '60s so don't think it's something new
Isaiah Reiser step through
Screening a zone isn't effective without shifting it first so you can set it while the defender isn't looking/distracted. A VERY important detail coaches need to be aware of
Exit Screen Misdirection 🪄 Flow the action away, and screen in the back side of the zone Note that subtle ball fake to shift the defense that little bit extra
This is impressive. For a little context, most elite shooters at D1 programs can do something similar by standing in the same place, getting the pass from the same angle, with no defense.
Truly remarkable how Joe finds these clips. The bigger point is that the one footed step thru has always been legal, and permitted, despite many people trying to use anecdotal evidence to say it's a travel. (It isn't and never was)
1995 college step through Travis Greer
Remember: nothing in the rules state how quickly or slowly you must take your legal 2 steps after the gather. Nothing in rules says it's illegal if that back foot drags during those 2 steps. As long as Kolek releases it before left foot comes down: LEGAL. (3 second rule applies)
