Sounds extrapolated from Tolstoy, Death of Ivan Ilyich, who, facing death, comes to see his life has been a bottomless pit of emptiness all for appearances and social approval.
Jeepers, creepers, where’d you get those peepers?‽!! Promised I’d tag @Chris_arnade 😊 First time we’ve seen the nestlings, popping up. Mom & Dad started the nest exactly 23 days ago. Do watch the last two videos!
See the worm in mama or daddy’s mouth? Hear those little cheeps? Pipsqueaks down below! We haven’t been able to see them yet but they’re there. And being fed! Robins & the Robinettes. An adventure we’ve witnessed starting July 3 when nest construction began (per pic below).
Beautiful clouds coming home last evening from the west, turned orange by the setting sun.

Well ... she's done it. Joint effort. Mama Robin and Daddy Robin Babies should hatch in a few days, and begin their trek: nestling, fledgling, juvenile. Four eggs about 3/4 to an inch. That incomparable robin's egg blue.
Amazing shot of Mama Robin in the nest yesterday afternoon. I snapped it quickly & skedaddled. We think she has started to lay. Look at that expression! Exactly six days after she started to elaborately construct her nest. How do birds know to do so exactly what they do‽
A bill so bad even Democrats voted against it. So it’s revenge (or blackmail) time for She Who Won’t Be Deterred. Rumpole fans will get the reference.

I barely knew what I was seeing in this first video. Turned out to be a robin trying to get nesting material. She’s worked at this since Thursday. Robins were the first bird I knew as a kid. We loved the color of their eventually broken shells. Stay tuned. We’ll be godparents.

Gladiolus gladness season? First, claimed to be an Eastern gladiolus, I’ve never seen before and have seen only this one. Second two, Crimson and rich orange, are abounding. Your highly seasonal dose of gladaliciousness.

Hydrangea days If I had a house favorite blossom, this would be it. This is basically a snippet (!!!) from a block-long well-tended expanse of them. My first teenage love gave me a cutting that survived for a year, dried on a tabletop. 😊 @holden_lecroy @unknown_patriot

I rarely say (or think!) anything is going to even help (much less save!) the American healthcare non-system. This is as good, broadly, as it going to get. And it’s pretty damn good.
