An audit of flood control projects, the publication of the results, and the prosecution of those involved in anomalies is a good start. Basta magagawa talaga. It's amusing though that those who benefited from these anomalous insertions were probably right there clapping. 😏
One thing is clear, by barring the impeachment on a procedural issue, the Filipino people are also barred from seeing for themselves the truth as regards the very serious charges against the VP. Ang tanong ngayon: So ano na? Kalimutan na lang?
Ewan ko sa inyo ha, pero diba parang bagay na bagay sa kanila ang kinuhang lawyer ng mga Duterte? 😏
Nicholas Kaufman, Duterte's lawyer, is under scrutiny over a hotel meeting where he told the ICC prosecutor that pursuing Israel further "could end up destroying the Court." Kaufman said the meeting was to discuss Duterte’s request for interim release. rappler.com/philippines/du…

The Philippines may arrest a senator who served as police chief during then President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs if the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues a warrant over the campaign that left thousands of suspects dead, the top aide to President Marcos said. READ…
Nearly two out of every three Filipinos want an impeachment trial. The Constitution mandates it. Even VP Sara claims she wants the trial to proceed. So ano pa hinihintay ng Senado?
Sixty-six percent of Filipinos have agreed that Vice President Sara Duterte should address the impeachment charges to answer all allegations of corruption against her, according to an SWS survey conducted in June and commissioned by Stratbase. Read more: gmanetwork.com/news/topstorie…
The 1Sambayan analysis hits it on the head. The 4th complaint was voted and acted on BEFORE the first three complaints were archived/dismissed. So how can the 4th complaint be barred by an occurrence THAT HAD NOT HAPPENED YET?
The 1SAMBAYAN statement below details the factual errors of the Supreme Court decision:

Talaga naman. Two possible ways forward from this. A motion for reconsideration is the immediate one, but the chances of it being granted are unsure, at best. The other is for the House to refile in a few months. Again, the political likelihood of that is unsure, at best.
BREAKING: The articles of impeachment against VP Sara Duterte are barred by the one year rule, according to the Supreme Court. SC Spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting said the Senate could not acquire jurisdiction over impeachment proceedings. | via @adrianayalin
Naghamon tapos nung kinall magpapalusot. Ano pa ba ang bago? 🤷
How to say “I don’t have the courage to back up my words” without actually saying “I don’t have the courage to back up my words”. Palusot tawag dyan, dong. Talawan man pud diay.

So bukod sa pagbaluktot sa Saligang Batas, pati pala budget binaluktot para makinabang ang mga ka-tropa. Eto ba talaga ang ibobotong Senate President ulit? 🤨

I'm glad we have one more Senator who we can rely on to perform his Constitutional duty.
We will seek clarification on reports of a proposed resetting of the impeachment trial. Let me reiterate my position: I support the continuation of the impeachment proceedings. The Constitution is clear: once the articles of impeachment are transmitted to the Senate, the trial…
The rule on double jeopardy - in both our Consti and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights - bars further prosecution for the same crime after acquittal. The prosecution cannot appeal an acquittal nor ask for its reconsideration. So anong kababalaghan ito? 🙄
I don't understand what the prosecution is trying to do! Put me in triple jeopardy after nearly 7 years in unjust detention? Hindi na lang katawa-tawa ang ginagawa nila, nakakagalit na.
The SC order reasonably asks for info needed to resolve the petitions before it. But I share Cong Leila's concern that even though it does not bar the trial from (FINALLY!) pushing through, some senators (kilala na natin sila) will likely use it as an excuse for further delay.
Legal experts split on SC’s detailed order in Sara Duterte case s.inqnews.net/89waHef
The SC order should not be a bar to the Senate proceeding to trial. But I'm sure Team Delay will use it as yet another reason to once again avoid starting the trial. This is probably the slowest "forthwith" in history. 🙄
Concerns on the SC resolution regarding the impeachment? Prosecution member and Manila Rep. Joel Chua says the SC resolution should not affect trial. "Ito namang mga hinihingi naman po maiko-comply naman po namin, makakaasa po kayo na hindi ito makaka-apekto sa kung ano man po…
Cong @manayleila is absolutely correct. The House initiates impeachment. The Senate tries and decides, "forthwith." Two co-equal bodies performing their respective tasks. The Senate does not "check" what the House has already decided. Ano to, homework?
While some House lawmakers have questioned the constitutionality of complying with the Senate impeachment court’s second requirement, ML party-list Representative Leila de Lima was direct in calling this a violation of the Constitution. READ: abs-cbn.com/news/nation/20…
