Jay Procktor is one of the Alberta Teachers’ Association District Representative for Edmonton McMurray and he’s very pleased to be working with the Council for Inclusive Education.

Meet Cathy, Co-Conference Director! Cathy is currently a school-based instructional coach at a Calgary Board of Education middle school. For many years prior, she supported gifted learners, first as a teacher and learning leader in two of the four GATE settings in the CBE!

Carol’s current CIE role is co-conference director. She joined the council in 2006, working on the conference committee and later becoming the Edmonton Conference Director. Like other council members, she is passionate about inclusive education and providing PD to teachers.

We regret to inform you that we are currently grappling with some technical issues affecting our Executive Member email as well as the CIE Website. Our dedicated Webmaster is currently working tirelessly behind the scenes to rectify this situation.

Hannah Jenkins, our Webmaster, brings a unique perspective to our team after spending nearly 8 years dedicated to the junior high life. Hannah is a versatile individual, with a background as a LST at the Grande Prairie Public School Division and a degree in Secondary Ed.

Kelsey Bagnall, CIE Communications Officer, is currently serving as the Learning Supports Specialist at RVS. With a vast 16-year background in teaching ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12, she holds a Master of Education degree in Special Education from the U of A.

Kelly Huck is the Past President of the Council for Inclusive Education. With several years of experience working with the Council, Kelly has also served as the former editor of the councils’ newsletter, “Inside Inclusion.”

We proudly introduce Janis Bekar, our Treasurer. Janis is a key member of the team, dedicated to fostering collaboration, research, and creating inclusive learning environments.

Meet Aurielie Smith, CIE Secretary, who is a dedicated educator with over 15 years of teaching experience in elementary schools. Her passion for teaching and learning is evident in her work.
